John Eager Biography
EAGER, JOHN, came to Pine Grove in 1853.
He kept the Eagle Hotel till 1857, then built the Farmer's Hotel in the Annex.
He had three sons and four daughters: Frederick, Hiram, and Henry. The three sons served in the Civil War. Henry died while in service, one daughter was married to N. Brownback; Lucy was married to H. Cramer; Ellen to W. B. Snyder; Emma was single when they left Pine Grove.
