G. N. Eckert Biography



ECKERT, DR. G. N., came from Reading. He was the owner of a great deal of land. He built the Swatara furnace at what is now Outwood, the firm being Eckert and Guilford. Afterward it was turned into a forge where they used to make stoves. Some can still be found around the country called Swatara stoves.

He was a member of the 30th Congress and was President of the Lorberry Railroad.
