Waldron Family Biography

The parents of Thomas M. Waldron, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, were born and lived in Ireland all their lives, but gave to the United States four of their sons, three of whom settled in Western Pennsylvania, and one in Ohio. Michael Waldron married Catherine Roneye in Ireland, where both died. Sons: Lucian P., now a practicing physician of Akron, Ohio; Roneye, a veterinarian of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; Michael, a farmer of Redstone township, Fayette county, Pennsylvania, and Thomas M., of whom further. These sons all came to the United States from 1880 to 1887, and all have firmly established themselves as worthy citizens of their adopted country.

(II) Thomas M., son of Michael and Catherine (Roneye) Waldron, was born in February, 1865, in County Rosscommon, Ireland, where he remained until he was eighteen years of age. In 1883 he came to the United States, settling in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, where he found ready employment. Thomas M. had received a good education in Ireland, and after being in Pennsylvania for a short time he began the study of the diseases of the horse, later taking a course in veterinary surgery and medicine at Ontario Veterinary College, Toronto, Canada, whence he was graduated D. V. S. in 1890. For a time he practiced in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, but soon located in Uniontown, where he opened an office in 1890, and is now well established in the practice of his profession. He has a large well equipped modern hospital for the care of his cases and does a large veterinary and dental business, the importance of the latter now becoming apparent to horse owners. He is a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, and of the Royal Arcanum. He is a Republican in politics and actively interested in public affairs. In religious faith he is a Roman Catholic. He married, March 15, 1894, Melvina, daughter of Samuel and Rose (Wilty) Magie, of Fayette county. Child: Catherine, born July 9, 1899.
