Wonders Family Biography
Dr. Homer Forest Wonders, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, is a son of John W. and Angie (Masters) Wonders. His father is a bookkeeper in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and with his wife a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. They have four children.
(II) Dr. Wonders was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, August 25, 1877. He was educated in the public schools, Later, having decided upon the profession of medicine, he entered the Medico-Chirurgical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whence he was graduated M.D. in 1906. He then attended lectures at the Manhattan Eye and Ear Infirmary, New York City, and although now engaged in lucrative practice returns there each year for lectures; in this manner he keeps fully abreast with all modern discoveries in the treatment of the eye and ear, his specialties. In 1908 he located in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, fitting up offices on the fourth floor of the First National Bank building, where he is now in successful practice as an eye, ear, nose and throat specialist. He is a member of the Pennsylvania State and Fayette county medical societies and keeps in close touch with the world of medicine through these societies and standard publications, having never ceased to be a student. He is a member of Johnstown Lodge, No. 538, Free and Accepted Masons of Johnstown; the Protective Home Circle, and of the Heptasophs. Politically he is a Republican.
